Not All Cross Province Transactions Are Fraudulent

The GBA Story
Over the summer I wanted to reduce the clutter in my home by selling off anything I didn't use.  One of those items was a Nintendo Gameboy Advance (GBA). I put the posting up on Kijiji and within a few hours I get a call in regards to the posting. The man sounded old and went on about how he had to have it and asked all sorts of questions about the condition of the item, how long it runs for, could I do it for $5 less, etc. It was as if he was beating around the bush so I asked when can you come pick it up.

This is where it starts to become a lot like some sort of scam.

Classified For Sale Scams And Preventions

I have used all sorts of different free classified systems and Craigslist takes the crown when it comes to the number of email scams/cons I get.

How The Scam Works
If you've ever used Craigslist you should be familiar with the fraudulent cheque scams.  They usually begin with a variation of a poorly worded and often grammatically incorrect email asking the every famous and redundant question. "Is the item still available?"
